What is a girl's period like?
A girl’s period is her body’s way of shedding the lining of the uterus (womb) when pregnancy doesn’t happen. Here’s what it’s usually like:
🔹 The Flow
-
Blood comes out through the vagina, often mixed with tissue and mucus.
-
It can last 3–7 days on average.
-
Flow can be light, medium, or heavy, and often changes during the days.
🔹 Physical Symptoms
-
Cramps in the lower belly or back
-
Bloating or water retention
-
Headaches or fatigue
-
Tender breasts
🔹 Emotional Changes
-
Mood swings due to hormone shifts
-
Feeling more emotional or sensitive
-
Sometimes irritability or anxiety
🔹 Other Experiences
-
Some girls crave certain foods (like chocolate or carbs).
-
Sleep patterns may be disrupted.
-
Energy levels can drop, especially during the first few days.
👉 Every girl’s period is unique. Some barely notice it, while others may have painful cramps or heavier bleeding.
